ABOUT

Everybody needs to eat. This is an obvious answer to a question that doesn't need to be asked.

There are several questions, however, which may have less obvious answers. These include: How can I make meals both healthy and affordable? Are there urban gardens near me? Can I even benefit from them? How do I cook healthier versions of food? Can I trust nutrition research? Are there any nutrition-related programs near me? Is the information broken down and easy enough to follow that I can pass on the knowledge to my friends and family?

The purpose of this site is to provide a source for the nutrition-related resources in Detroit; a nutrition hub, if you will. Simply put, this a work-in-progress site to map out current nutrition and food-related projects happening in Detroit.

"You, as a food consumer, have the priviledge of actively participating in shaping the world your children will inherit."

- Joel Salatin

"The food you eat can either be the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison."

- Ann Wigmore
